We celebrated Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 10th February 2026. Through Safer Schools NI we watched an excellent story, The Friend Ship.
The Friend Ship: An Adventure in Cyber Space is designed to help plant seeds of safety in the minds of children. Set in cyber space Jack, Freddie, his dog and his friends travel onboard the 'Friend Ship' on a journey to Planet YouTube Kids. During the adventure Jack encounters opportunities to make decisions about friendship. The story deals with issues such as age appropriate access to Apps, decision making and the importance of children seeking help from trusted adults.
When we finished the story we successfully completed our Digital Proficiency Test with all children receiving a certificate for passing their test. Well done!
