Donation to Mary's Meals
Comhghairdeas libh!
We are extremely proud of our entire school community and our generous sponsors who supported our 50th Anniversary Guest Tea. Together, you raised an incredible £5,045.87 for Mary’s Meals – a truly outstanding achievement which our School Council presented to Peggy & Pauline from the Omagh Branch.
As it costs just £19.15 to feed one child for a whole year, your generosity will provide daily meals for 132 children – the same number as our current school enrolment – for two full years. This powerful connection makes the outcome even more meaningful for our pupils and families.
We have chosen Mary’s Meals as our school charity because of its commitment to ensuring that nearly all donations go directly towards feeding children, rather than administration costs. Thanks to your support, children across the world will receive the nourishment they need to learn, grow and thrive.
As part of this initiative, the eldest child in each family has been (or will shortly be) given a Blue Cup to collect loose change at home. We are encouraging the children to take responsibility for this themselves, rather than asking parents directly, as a way of fostering generosity, responsibility and empathy.
At the end of June, we hope to make a further donation to Mary’s Meals using the money collected. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help make a meaningful difference.
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored and supported this special event. It is a wonderful reflection of our school values and the strength of our community.
